Albergaria + Inclusiva

The project

Albergaria + Inclusiva project has the support of the Municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha and aims to raise awareness, empower and mobilise, mainly, adolescents and young adults with special educational needs in the municipality of Albergaria, for their individual and collective responsibilities in building more sustainable communities.

Aiming to give voice to this often ignored group, the activities are based on an emotion-focused pedagogy in environmental education, where active solutions to environmental problems are sought, rather than a catastrophist and fear-based discourse.

To this end, building blocks will be used to enable them to communicate their environmental concerns and three complementary activities have been planned to foster pro-environmental behaviours and show that by acting together we can make a difference.

The ultimate goal of this programme is to build a sustainable city, while addressing relevant topics such as pollution, climate change, deforestation, biodiversity and especially water management.

The planned activities will be developed through street actions, including thematic exhibitions in municipal spaces.

Albergaria + Inclusiva has the support of LEGO® and the project People & Planet - A Common Destiny, which is co-financed by the European Union and Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P. People and Planet is implemented in 8 EU Member States and Cape Verde and, in Portugal, is implemented by the consortium composed by the Municipality of Loures, Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr, Rede Intermunicipal de Cooperação para o Desenvolvimento (RICD) and FUEL.
