The project

 

+Aveiro's goal was to integrate students into academic life as a whole, by promoting scientific culture, citizenship and by showing, in close proximity, the opportunities that exist in the region, in the market, in the market and in the business and cultural areas. It was developed in collaboration with the Tutoring Programme of the University of Aveiro, which aims at the well succeded insertion of new students by combating problems of school failure and abandonment.

 

The +Aveiro project contemplated two aspects. The first was made up of informal "Há Conversa" meetings that took place every month. We invited teachers, researchers, former students or relevant figures from the various departments and schools of the University of Aveiro to hold a lecture in a proximity context in order to allow a 'conversation' with the students. These moments had the objective of disseminating the AU within the AU.

 

The second aspect was the "off-campus" outings which consisted of field trips to points of cultural and natural interest in the region of Aveiro with the aim of promoting the integration of students in the city. Being this project dedicated first of all to first year students, these outings aimed to bring students closer to a city that is now also theirs. We went to the Natural Reserve of Dunas de São Jacinto, to the Ílhavo Maritime Museum, to the Live Science Factory, among others.
